A mobile booking portal has been created by business-only operator Major Travel, alongside a new agent booking incentive and competition.
“Major Go” allows agents to access the company’s reservation system via smartphones and other mobile devices.
The initiative gives them the ability to create bookings with over 150 airlines, 500,000 hotels, transfers and car rentals out of the office.
Agents will also be able to share Major Travel specials on their social media from their phone, as they currently can from their desktop.
Messages will only feature the agent’s call to action and branding, ensuring inquiries are directed to them.
The company is offering a £10 Amazon or Love2Shop voucher for every booking made on the new system before the end of August.
Agents are also encouraged to get creative in a new contest to find the “craziest location” where the new system is used.
They must take a photo of themselves making the booking and tag @Major4agents on Facebook, using the hashtag #MajorGo to get an extra incentive on their first Major Go booking for a chance to win £500 to spend on their own vacation. .
Qasim Gulamhusein, Managing Director of Major Travel, said: “As a B2B operator, our goal is to make life as easy as possible for our agent partners. They can now craft a complex itinerary for their customers as easily as doing their Christmas shopping on Amazon.
“Given how much the world has changed over the past few years, our main focus was to develop a ‘mobile-first’ booking platform – agents could be at a networking event, wedding fair or even on the beach .
“If they have a mobile signal, they don’t have to wait to get back to their desk to be able to offer a quote to a customer – they can do it on the spot, in real time.
“I believe we offer the most sophisticated and only full service tour operator platform that is mobile friendly across all devices. We have undertaken a trial with a small group of agents and the results have been phenomenal, agents who value the ability to access Major Travel’s exceptional fares on the go.
