Like with Airbnb, 9 surprising things you can rent privately online

0

Online rental marketplaces are where people who own things they don’t use rent them out to people who will. Today, you can rent out everything from storage space in someone’s garage, to camping on a private ranch, to someone’s unused RV. The idea is so popular that the phrase “the Airbnb of…” has become shorthand for describing such services.

One of the reasons they’re attractive is that renting often makes more financial sense than buying, especially with big-ticket items. RVs are a great way to explore the great outdoors, but unless you’re planning on spending weeks behind the wheel of one of these rolling monsters, it’s cheaper to just rent one.

Renting also gives you access to experiences and places you couldn’t get otherwise, like a lakeside campsite on a private ranch or a beautiful backyard for a special event. And for landlords, it allows them to earn passive income by renting out things they don’t use.

Here is a list of several services.
