Local police officers from the Fuengirola resort in Malaga saved the life of an 88-year-old man who was left hanging from his balcony.

As Fuengirola Town Hall reported today, Monday June 13, local police officers in the seaside town of Malaga rescued an 88-year-old man who had been left hanging from his balcony. With the help of a passing taxi driver, they managed to pull the man inside and save his life before he fell.

The incident happened on the morning of Sunday June 12, when a police patrol in the city’s Los Boliches neighborhood observed an elderly person hanging from the balcony of the first floor of an apartment building. They immediately stopped their vehicle, and as an officer cut off traffic, his partner climbed a tree in an attempt to reach the old man.

An assistance alert was issued to other nearby patrols, as well as a request to deploy firefighters on site. The policeman managed to secure the octogenarian by wrapping him in his arms, but quickly realized that he would need the help of another person to bring him back inside the property.

At that time, a taxi driver who was traveling in the area responded to the situation. He also climbed onto the balcony and between them they managed to bring the man to safety in his house.

It turned out that the old man had been trying to fix some broken tiles on his balcony and had tripped and fallen over the railing. Luckily for him, the eagle-eyed policemen had spotted him and saved him before he fell.
