18-year-old arrested in Malaga, Marbella town, selling laughing gas bottles

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the city of Malaga, Marbella, with bottles of laughing gas he claimed to sell at parties.

National Police officers from the city of Marbella in Malaga have arrested an 18-year-old man after catching him in possession of several bottles of nitrous oxide. The detainee arrested is suspected of being responsible for a crime against public health.

His arrest took place at dawn on Sunday, June 5, when a Citizen Security prevention patrol observed a young man loading several bottles into the trunk of a vehicle. When they approached his vehicle, they checked that it was bottles of nitrous oxide, according to malagahoy.es.

After consulting national police databases, it was confirmed that he was using false documents. Likewise, a check was carried out in his car and the officers seized €1,540 in cash, as well as sums in foreign currency. Inside his vehicle he had four canisters of laughing gas and balloons for ingesting the gas.

Further investigations established that the inmate was offering the bottles of nitrous oxide – also known as laughing gas – for €150 or €200 depending on the size, for consumption at private parties in the famous seaside resort of the Costa del Sol.

The youngster was later arrested and charged with crimes against public health and possession of false documents. It was placed at the disposal of the Court of instruction n°4 of Marbella.
