Malaga police are investigating the discovery of the body of a missing man from Mijas in Chiclana de la Frontera, in the neighboring province of Cádiz. The victim, a middle-aged man, had been shot in the head and a few meters away his car was on fire. Officers are working on the theory that it was a killing score.

The man, of North African descent with links to the Netherlands, is believed to have traveled in a hire car to Chiclana between January 14 and 15 – the day his body was found.

The body was a few meters from the car, which was set on fire in a clear attempt to destroy evidence.

A woman walking her dog in the neighborhood of Pago del Humo found the victim’s body on Saturday January 15 and called emergency services.

When they identified the deceased, investigators discovered that his disappearance had been reported by a relative to the Fuengirola National Police station.

Now the investigation is focused on the victim’s potential enemies as officers try to piece together the last days of his life and find out why he traveled to Cádiz in the hope that this clue could lead to the perpetrators of the crime.
